  •
After enduring Hurricanes Katrina and Gustav and an extraordinary snow storm that dumped 8 inches of snow in south Louisiana and the ensuing power outages, each lasting several days, my husband and I had a 20 KW Generac generator installed. A couple of weeks ago during the extreme cold weather that hit most of the U.S., my husband and I woke during the night to discover that we were without electricity and that our generator was running. It powered everything we needed in our 1700 sq. ft. house, including our electric central heating unit. We went back to sleep secure in the knowledge that our home would stay warm during the night and for however long it took to have powered restored. We could not be more pleased with the performance of our Generac. It was confirmation to us that the money we spent on our generator was money well spent.- Dan and Amy Hester, Tickfaw, Louisiana
  • "Our house appeared as a virtual lighthouse, where we sat in air conditioned comfort watching a movie"- Myall Hawkins
After Hurricane Ike left us without power for 10 days, we investigated the various generator options. We ultimately decided to install a natural gas powered Generac 22KW QuietSource in May. We did not expect to see the unit operate, if at all, until our next Hurricane. Last weekend we were hit with torrential rains and gusts up to 50 knots. Power was knocked out for three hours for every house and street light in multiple surrounding neighborhoods. Our house appeared as a virtual lighthouse, where we sat in air conditioned comfort watching a movie.-Myhall Hawkins, Pearland, Texas
  • "I consider a backup generator a necessity, not a luxury"- Jen Fanying

  • "Thank you for a great and reliable product"- Kent Stahl
We live in Nederland, TX which is a small town on the Southeast Texas Gulf coast. We were hit by hurricane Ike in 2008 and immediately drove back in town after evacuating. Prior to leaving, I had done some research on generators big enough to power not only the essentials but some of the amenities as well. For those out there that are skeptical or wondering how much power is needed to run the central A/C units, I can say to you that I purchased a 15kw Guardian generator and was very pleased to find out that not only did the generator run the essentials such as freezers and refrigerators, but also had no problem running two brand new 4 ton central units as well as pool pumps. Thank you for a great and reliable product. -Kent Stahl, Nederland, Texas
  • "Thank you for producing a very good product which I am proud to be a small part of"- Tony E. Martin
I finished the installation of my 20 kW Generac generator on March 27th 2009 at about 1pm. Eight hours later an ice storm hit south central Kansas and we lost power for sixty hours. I stopped the generator at eight hours, changed the oil and oil filter and started the unit which ran non stop till utility power returned. I live in a rural area and several of my neighbors called me to find out why I had electricity and they were still in the dark. This gave me a wonderful chance to tell them about Generac generators and that I was a new dealer for Generac. Another option that has helped me with sales has been the remote monitor system that I use with my unit. I installed a 200 amp whole house transfer switch that was installed in line with the 200 amp under ground service that feeds my house. When we have a lightning storm entering the area I transfer the electrical load to my generator. I simply go to the test system on the remote monitor, start and transfer load, and wait till the storm passes. As a Master Electrician with 36 years experience in the field I have so often seen what lightning can do to a home or commercial building. The transfer switch opens an air gap on the utility side which is a very good way to help avoid lightning damage to my electrical system. Thank You for producing a very good product which I am proud to be a small part of.- Tony E. Martin, Wellington, Kansas

Choosing a Generac standby generator provides peace of mind for your family, property and safety. An automatic standby generator works by monitoring utility voltage 24/7. When your electricity is interrupted, the generator detects the problem and goes to work. Standby generators are powered by natural gas or liquid propane which means you’ll have a reliable fuel that can last for days. Read below to learn more about the Guardian and QuietSource series.
